How Long Does An Ice Tray Take To Freeze

2009 Back on the blog

And yes, it's been several months since I'm not here to put my experiences on the blog. Such is life! However

probably approach the new year and the resolutions that it brings, I'll return you to this year 2010 to describe two different experiences.

First, last year we built our backyard. So this year we hope to grow vegetables. I will be back on the organization of the court that we have achieved, but by February I will talk about shopping for organic seeds.

Secondly, this year our family will grow. And yes, we will be parents! So there are lots of small purchases to predict. We have already made the purchase of a trolley to run behind the baby. Buying a second hand from friends. Our goal here is to buy the most used objects. Since the arrival of the baby is expected in June, probably the second part of 2010 will be spent.

During the holidays, I want to do some updating of the experiences of 2009.

I wish you Happy Holidays!

Can You Take Super Pump With Creatine

Listening to Podcasts

With the Iphone, I can watch video podcasts while traveling or when I wait before an appointment.
This summer I discovered a new podcast on technology products (hardware, software) that have environmental qualities.
course, do not fall into the consumerism and say that we must discard these old appliances for new ones. Here the goal is to stay informed by having a critical spirit.

You can see videos http://cnettv.cnet.com/ menu CNET Tech Shows you go to The Green Show or if you click on this link which opened Itunes and you will be able to subscribe.

Here the very elements that I found interesting during my recent viewings:

Pityriasis Rosea Looks Like Ringworm

Installation of bike lanes versus cycling

I live at the junction of the boroughs of Rosemont and Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Petite-Patrie. A month ago, I noticed that very work on Molson Street between Rachel and St-Joseph Blvd.

The street is redone slightly wider, although it is only 2 lanes in the opposite side to land the Technopole Angus not yet developed. So now people who use the streets are in transit and passing cars can easily make accelerations up to 80 k / h to cover the distance between the two streets. So when you meet the limits of 50km / h or even as you drive slowly as the future boundary of 40 km / h, there are driving you crazy as you exceed doubling and you honking.
So I confess that my spouse and I hoped that the work would allow the establishment of a new cycle track which connects the long track along the rue des Carrières up the bike path on Rachel. We had heard about this possible connection and we said that with a path as wide as it was quite possible that there is a bike path that would be implemented.

To our surprise last week, instead of seeing the installation of posts to divide traffic lanes and a future bike path is finally emerging on the floor of the small lines that announce tracing of bicycle lanes on both sides of the street between the parking and traffic lane for cars.
Are people accountable for Street improvements have already been circulated cycling on the street to design such a facility? Currently, although there is room for the installation of the bike path, some cyclists ride on the sidewalk to avoid being too close to cars traveling in the blind spot and the doors that open.

Why not create suitable accommodation such as a bike path separate from the traffic?

With such an arrangement, I'm really not looking forward to wait on the evening news that a child is hit by a car because it came out slightly from its path.

Rectangle Tablecloths

Quebec

In recent years, a logo appears on store shelves and the shelves for fruit and vegetables Foods Quebec. When the logo is affixed to a packaged product, the company made an approach for the right to use it. However

in fresh produce, as a consumer I would be more careful. Last week, in a grocery in my neighborhood, asparagus were announced with a big sign of lily, but looking closely at the rubber bands, I noticed they were all from Ontario. In fact, so far away as California, but still not as in-store displays.

I hate when we are shopping for big suitcases. In addition, several of them currently use this card marketing to convince us to go in their trade. So, as my eco-consumption-wise, we must keep vigilant eye.

By the way, the site SOS Cuisine , there is an interesting graphic Fruit and vegetables in season as they arrive in supermarkets, but it is best to agree to buy the winery in public procurement. For the people of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, this Saturday, there will producers Maisonneuve Market every Saturday from July 4 to October 30, 2009.

Certificate Of Rent Paid

After a month of running Bixi

So all the stations are not yet operational, but the most important being there for me, I can regularly use the service for a quarter of my travels.
The positive points:
  • ease use the bike with the key;
  • handling of the bike;
  • the comfort of the saddle.
Negative points:
  • the luggage racks without side like a basket with elastic too small for a regular case or steel bars too close together for a bulkier briefcase;
  • no service point in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve in Rosemont;
  • bicycles not found in downtown after 18h;
  • anchor points available is very rare in the zone limit of installation after 18h. You can

Wilderness Fleetwood Travel Trailer Owner Manual

Card from iPhone to Bixi

Last week, I was really happy to find a Bixi a small card case which indicated that there was an application to see active stations by the number of terminals available.

I used the service biximobile.com for exactly four days, and since Monday, the site no longer works. In fact, the creator of the site was a program using data from the official website which was easier to download an iPhone, but he used the official logo Bixi on the site, without being an official supplier Bixi.

Thus, following a notice of parking Montreal, information has been removed from the site. The homepage of the site indicates that he hopes he will be able to develop something with parking Montreal relaunch the site. So to see ...

I hope there is an agreement for on my iPhone, I'm not able to see the stations that are active from the official site, what I could do with the site biximobile.com .

So how long will it take it to the real site Bixi to put something up and running online? Personally, since the start of the service, if I am not able to validate my journey from a computer before leaving, I avoid using BIXI. I often have no time to lose 15 minutes in my trip to find another terminal. So stay tuned ....

Convert Gas Starter To Gas Fireplace

Thank the Department of Communication BIXI

Following my post yesterday, I am writing to info@bixi.ca to inform them of my experiences with the service BIXI. And I received a response from them regarding the function to which I referred when stations that are complete. It is not yet available.

It will be put in place by the end of June (so when all stations are in operation). In the meantime, when I arrive at a station that is full, I can contact 514-789-2494 (I put it as a contact on my iPhone) and then someone should tell me the nearest station to where I'll be and the number of anchors available. (In fact, the person will answer the same question when I call my boyfriend, without the disturb!)

Moreover, it warned me that being aware my situation, they can deduct the extra charges that may apply if I exceed my first half hour free.

So to follow when one of my next tests.

Bumps After Scabies Treatment

2nd and 3rd tests BIXI

After my experience on Tuesday, yesterday I tried again and again BIXI.

second successful attempt. Before leaving office to go to an appointment, I check on internet stations of departure and arrival stations especially. There are bikes available anchor points. Travel time: 7 min BIXI and another 5 minutes on foot. It is a journey that I usually bus which takes me more time because of the expectations and judgments.

3rd test less successful. I start from my appointment and told me a few strokes of the wheel would make me well as an exercise. So I decide to move to Guy-Concordia Berri-UQAM bike. In fact, I give myself a goal of bike stations near Berri-UQAM because I remember there were based on the map. Note that I can consult the Internet before departure. So I resumed a bike, but when I reach the first station on the corner of Maisonneuve and Sanguinet, the resort is full of bikes. I click on the terminal to enter my code to get an additional 15 minutes and I thought then that terminal would tell me the nearest station that could accommodate my bike.

The site says it well:

not find any room to bring your bike? Do not panic.

Sign in to the terminal with your credit card (24 hour access) or number of BIXI key on the back (subscribers 1 year and 30 days) to obtain a free additional 15 minutes ... time to get to a another station. Check the terminal to know in real time the number of anchor points free in neighboring resorts. ( http://www.bixi.com/roulez-a-bixi/comment-ca-marche )

Except, that terminal does not give me information on nearby stations. Either the service is not yet operational, but this time, I had to call my boyfriend tells me that for the nearest terminal, which was complete! A little later there was another terminal with anchor points available, but no internet and my boyfriend, I lost a lot of time searching. So for now, I will take the BIXI when I can check my travels over the Internet.

What Are African Skirts Called?

Visit Équiterre for triplex

As announced in my post about my resolutions spring, after more than eight months into our new home, we begin to seriously analyze the building to do some work to improve the energy efficiency of buildings. In fact, we want a work plan for the next 15 years. We do not necessarily have the financial means and willingness to subscribe for an additional loan to get them all at once.

Already on Monday, we met a cart for reflection Emmanuel Cosgrove Écohabitation . We know very well that the work we do in building does not allow us to make a certification LEED ® Canada for Homes , but we wanted to put an order in the priorities for action based on the grid for the certification .

Thus, to complete our pre-survey on the building today Équiterre comes to visit throughout the triplex. So for $ 600 fee, we will receive a report on the current condition of the building. This report will propose a project to enhance various components of the building and we indicate the possible subsidies. Note The federal government provides grants for rental buildings, but not the provincial government. However, the work must be done within the next 18 months. So we see if we'll soon some of them that in addition to providing a return on investment due to energy savings, they would qualify for grant programs.

so I'll be back in the coming weeks because by then we will be able to put order in our future work on the building.

Like A Period But White Instead

First try cycling Bixi

The day of the launch of Bixi May 12, 2009, I subscribed on the website. At $ 78 annual subscription as I was ready to make this investment to see how it would work. I received my chip 2 days later by mail. After registration of the chip on the Internet, I was ready. I hope to use the Bixi to see some customers during the day and sometimes back to the house by combining the operation because the service is not yet in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. This will be longer than the subway, but at least I'll outside.

So today was the first attempt. First, find a station by. The launch is done, but it's not all stations are in place. Find one with bikes available, because the nearest office showed no bike at 17:30. Only 300 yards away, there was a station on the corner of Bleury with bikes waiting for me.

Only 5 minutes walk and here I am. The chip in the drive bike, the bike was mine. Small adjustment of seat height and I was gone. A short trip on René-Lévesque to Alexandre de Seve, the place most in the east where there are currently based bikes.

first observation, motorists in Montreal and have not changed as I was not on the cycle track from St-Denis, I was a little bored of my helmet bike. Arrived before the first station, I remembered that on the website, there were indications of station who were a little farther north. My first mistake. I thought there was a Papineau Metro station, but no!

I try with my Iphone look at the map of the stations, but the website takes so long to download my iphone closes the session believing that the site is not responding. As I have an iPhone, I call my boyfriend who looks on his computer and tells me when the next available station at the corner of Alexandre de Seve and Ontario.

parking is as easy as taking possession of the bike. In my statement on the site, I made the trip in less than 25 minutes from 5:49 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. therefore no extra cost. Eventually if I want to go Station at the corner Hogan and Hochelaga, I'll have to check the time to go there, but admit that today I took the delay in finding a station to accept my bike.

Driving is very nice, this is not really forcing. It must take its time because when the streets down, it does no good to ride. I noted the height of my seat to quickly choose a bike next time. I give you news of my upcoming tests.

Getting A Short Weave When You Have Long Hair

Resolutions spring

Spring has officially arrived a few days. The snow in our backyard begins to melt and we begin to plan its transformation into an island of freshness near the house and garden that we share with tenants in the sunniest part. We also wish to implement a composting and storage of bicycles.

We will try to recover as much material as possible from this court, as the existing pavement and all the white stones that surrounded the old above ground pool, while seeking other materials from recovery or environmentally friendly materials to rebuild the fence and the bins for the garden.

So one of my missions this year is to show you the evolution of the court through the various seasons of 2009. Here besides its current state. A bit depressing!

My second mission is to improve the energy efficiency of the triplex. Already we are planning to change the old renters back doors and we want before undertaking work to better insulate the window frames, submit the building to a blower. With new budgets of both governments (provincial and federal), it seems that there are grant programs that are available to help homeowners improve the energy efficiency of existing buildings. So in the months ahead, I inform you of this.

Procedureof Need Analysis

economy against the environment

past several weeks and months, our governments plan to invest in our economy by helping companies financially. I can understand that we should help those who have difficulty relating to their working capital as banks have completely changed the market rules.

However I disagree to help industries that have problems resulting from a misunderstanding of the changing needs of consumers such as the North American automotive industry.

Our governments should invest in public transit and not in the personal automobile.

Indeed, without such assistance, some workers will lose their jobs, but do you really think that these jobs will still be around in 5 years?

It would be more appropriate to offer a good insurance program and job training programs that assist such businesses as currently this money to keep these companies on life support more shareholders and the leaders that workers and all citizens who pay through their taxes.

There are texts on the net about the fact that our governments should direct those investments to an environmentally responsible economy.
